July has been a lovely book-month so far. I just received my author’s copies of the truly gorgeous New Annotated Frankenstein (the official pub date is August 8)–thank you, Liveright/Norton for another amazingly beautiful design! I’m very proud to be doing my first-ever signing at San Diego Comic-Con, from 5 to 6 pm on Friday, July 21, at the Mysterious Galaxy booth, Booth #1119, with pre-release copies of Frankenstein that Norton sent them.

It was also the month in which we (my editor Janet Byrne and I) finished New Annotated H. P. Lovecraft: Beyond the Mythos, which will be the second and final volume of the set (25 more stories), and delivered the manuscript to Liveright/Norton. We’re on track for October 2018 publication!

And finally, editor Scott Nybakken and I wrapped up Watchmen: The Annotated Edition (with much help from Dave Gibbons). It’s racing off to the printers for publication before year-end, in late November! I can’t wait to see the final product!

Whew! So, of course, it’s a good time to get started on something new! I’ve already begun work on a massive annotated mystery collection–stayed tuned for further details!
